More Bach to come ...

For many years I have found the music of JS Bach to be the most sublime and moving music that I have ever experienced.  I'm lucky to have been able to play and conduct quite a number of his works.  But until recently I'd never read a biography of Bach, and am now delighted to have finished Christoph Wolff's excellent one-volume biography, simply entitled 'JS Bach'.  It of course contains lots of interesting information, but the main effect it has had is that I want to hear more Bach, play more Bach, direct more Bach!  I'm delighted that I have a slot at St James's Church Piccadilly in London to perform one of Bach's Passions each year on Good Friday ... but I think I'm going to need more opportunities than that!
