Haydn and Vorisek

A great day was had last Saturday, 3 June, as Peter lead a workshop on symphonies by Haydn and Vorisek in central London.  An orchestra numbering 32 (an ideal size) admirably negotiated the many notes of symphony 99 by Haydn and the symphony in D by little-known Czech composer Vorisek.  One-off days like this are always great fun - the pressure level is low as no concert is being prepared for (although there was a complete playthrough of the works at the end of the afternoon).  Peter was delighted that, as well as getting round the (fairly unfamiliar) notes the orchestra took on stylistic suggestions that he made.  More please!!
